Updates on Flickr
Hello, Blogosphere! (it's been awhile)
Click HERE to view my flickr (via flickriver). This is where you will find what I have been up to in photography; most of which includes self-portraiture. Please note that in order to view all of my flickr photos, you will need to go to my actual photostream here. Enjoy!

Senior Thesis Presentations & Horvath
Yesterday, the six of us gave our senior thesis presentations at the Stander Symposium. As nerve wracking as it was giving a public presentation, I believe it went pretty well. I'm so proud of my fellow photo majors. Thanks to all who came and listened to nearly two hours of presentations. After a late lunch and vintage shopping with my dad, I headed over to Rike for the Horvath show. Horvath is a juried student art exhibition held for UD students and all six of us got work in. It was great to see the photo department do so well. Aside from Mark O'Brien deservingly cleaning up with three awards, Katie received another honorable mention, Amanda got the faculty award and I also managed to get an honorable mention - what a memorable day!

Senior Exhibition at Link Gallery

Our Senior Exhibition, Frayed, is currently up at the Link Gallery downtown Dayton, located in the Oregon Arts district. Please check it out! First Friday (4/3) will be the opening reception. It displays mixed work from 21 graduating visual arts majors. I was on the committee of student curators/organizers for the show with a few others and it's come together well!

Senior Thesis Portfolio
The 14 images below collectively make up my senior photography portfolio.
The idea that the ordinary can be further investigated and more closely observed through the camera, fascinates me. Photography easily lends itself to be a way in which to document and record, and I am making landscape photographs in this very obvious sense while being hyper aware of space. As I take the time to truly look at my subject and see pieces of my everyday surroundings, I notice how fleeting a moment can be. It is important to me to pay attention to the subtle change in environment because of weather, light or how people have affected specific spaces over time.
